Penn State Harrisburg completes Phase One of housing renovation project
HARRISBURG, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg has completed Phase One of an ongoing renovation project in Capital Village. 20 new rooms have been added in Pine House and Mahanoy House. Phase Two, which will include adding 52 new rooms to Kettle, Muncy, Sherman and Wiconisco Houses, will take place in the summer of 2026.
Both buildings now feature five-bedroom/five-person apartments that allow more students to enjoy the convenience and community of living on campus.
“Residents in the renovated apartments are enjoying more comfortable and updated living spaces,” said Craig Cook, Penn State Harrisburg director of Housing and Food Services. “The addition of a fifth bedroom allows more students to experience on-campus living, while new flooring and refreshed living room furniture create a modern, welcoming environment. Feedback from students has been positive, and we’re excited to bring these upgrades to even more apartments in the next phase.”
