Being a Penn Stater

Starts with living on Campus!

Living on campus means community.

There is no better way to meet new people and build lifelong friendships than living on campus. Students from across the state, country, and world, with different interests and goals, become neighbors and friends. Each residence building is a community large enough for students to find their niche and expand their interests yet small enough to recognize faces and feel at home. Friendships are an important part of the college experience, and living on campus is where it all begins.

Living on campus means unforgettable experiences.

Live the tradition and create a unique college experience with lifelong friends! There are endless opportunities to broaden horizons, expand interests, and develop new skills living on campus. A Penn State tradition unlike any other — activities, events, clubs, and programs are available at every turn.

Living on campus is easy.

Some of the great amenities students find from the LiveOn experience include culinary staff preparing every meal, staff cleaning and maintaining common spaces, easy access to laundry services, and free Wi-Fi from anywhere on campus. Also, all amenities come with no hidden fees or monthly costs – room rates are all-inclusive. Quiet study spaces and group-project collaboration suites offer study spaces for every need without having to walk outside.

Living on campus means a safe and secure living environment.

A safe, comfortable living space means more time for studying, learning, working, and playing. Staff work endlessly to ensure spaces are clean, well-maintained, and meet every safety regulation. Buildings are secured for residents only. Live-in staff at every hall are also on-hand for 24/7 coverage.

Living on campus is convenient.

Living on campus puts students in the middle of all things Penn State, while giving complete independence. Students have everything at their fingertips: a comfortable room ready for just the right personal touch and common spaces to study, relax, and socialize. Everything is just steps away too – classes, libraries, computer labs, recreational areas, and spots to eat and hang out. Campus living sets the stage for the perfect combination of academic work, engagement, and play.

Living on campus is an important part of the Penn State experience. First-year students are encouraged to live on campus, while those attending Behrend and University Park are required to live on campus as a condition of the offer of admission and housing space is guaranteed.

We are dedicated to creating the most comfortable and memorable experience for Penn State students. We are the smiling faces creating engaging programs, serving at the dining center, and taking care of our residence buildings. We want students to remember their on-campus living experience as dynamic, fun, and an important part of their time at Penn State. Find out more about our Penn State locations across the state and get ready to LiveOn!
