No matter what housing area becomes your home at Penn State University Park, you’ll be within walking distance to dining facilities, computer labs, and classrooms, and will enjoy your #LiveOn experience. First-year students enjoy living in traditional residence halls, renovated residence halls, and suites throughout campus, and upperclass students can select from traditional and renovated residence halls, suites, and apartments. There's a space for everyone!

East Halls is the largest residence hall complex on campus, housing approximately 4,900 first-year students in 16 coed renovated residence halls that offer double rooms and individual, private-use bathrooms.

Eastview Terrace houses upperclass students in seven residence halls. Each student has a single room with a private bath. A limited number of double-occupancy rooms with a private bath will be available for the 2025-2026 academic year. A study/social space and laundry machines are located in each hall.

Nittany Apartments features four-person apartments for upperclass or undergraduate students. Students can preference either a two- and four-bedroom garden apartment or a four-bedroom townhouse apartment. Each apartment features a living room and kitchen.
Nittany Hall is a suite-style building located in the complex. It offers a four-person suite with two double-occupancy rooms and a shared bathroom.

North Housing Area, an all coed housing complex, is home to many first-year students participating in a Living Learning Community. North Housing Area accommodates the majority of students in four-person suites, with a few two-person suites available for upper-class students. First-year students can also live in Robinson Hall, a renovated residence hall that offers more traditional-type housing, with double rooms and individual, private-use bathrooms.

Pollock Housing Area is the second largest residence hall complex, with nine traditional coed residence halls, and housing over 2,500 first-year students.

South Halls is flanked by campus and downtown State College. South Halls offers coed residence halls, with three traditional-style residence halls housing both first-year and upper-class students, and nine renovated residence halls reserved exclusively for upper-class students. Members of the Schreyer Honors College also reside in South Halls.

West Halls offers a true, traditional collegiate feel - beautiful brick buildings which open onto a quad with symmetrical walkways and arches that lead to the heart of campus. First-year and upper-class students are assigned to the six coed traditional residence halls.

White Course Apartments are located on the west-end of campus and provides a convenient and comfortable apartment complex for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as students with families.
