Bigler Hall
Bigler Hall, originally built in 1961 and renovated in 2023, is a residence hall in the southwest quad of the East Housing Area. Unlike traditional residence halls, these buildings offer students private, single-user bathrooms in the hallway area that are shared by the floor. Similar to a home, each bathroom is privately used by one individual. Additional sinks are located near the bathrooms to provide quick, easy use. The ground floor and basement features lounges, kitchen, laundry room, study space, and knowledge station. Buildings are co-ed by room (each room is a single-gender, but may be next to a room of opposite gender). Bigler Hall is located in close proximity to the IM Building, Pegula Ice Arena, and the Arboretum.
Bigler Hall is named after William Bigler, the 12th Governor of Pennsylvania from 1852-55. Bigler created the Clearfield Democrat, a political newspaper when he was just 19 years old. After his term as governor, he served as a U.S. Senator.
