Hamilton Hall

Hamilton Hall is named after John Hamilton. Hamilton served as the farm superintendent (1866) and was affiliated with Penn State College in various capacities, including professor of agriculture, business manager, and treasurer, until his retirement in 1911.
Hamilton Hall, built in 1949, is a classic traditional residence hall. The building features a living room, recreation/game room, study rooms, kitchen, and laundry room. Hamilton Hall offers coed housing and bedrooms feature fixed and flexible furniture that allows students to arrange furniture in a room a few different ways. Hamilton Hall is coed with male and female students assigned to sections of the floor and a designated bathroom on the floor for male and female students. Hamilton Hall is located in the West Housing area near the Nittany Lion Shrine, Pattee and Paterno Library, Recreation Building (REC Hall), Blue and White Golf Courses, and Hepper Fitness Center.
Waring Commons supports students living in West Halls.

Housing Room Rates
Housing and food charges are posted to the student's LionPATH account at the beginning of summer (if applicable), fall, and spring semesters. The Office of the Bursar manages billing statements and processing payments.

Living Learning Communities

Women In Science & Engineering (WISE) House
The Women In Science and Engineering House (WISE House) is designed to actively promote an equitable and inclusive Living Learning Community for residents pursuing undergraduate degrees in science and engineering. Members of WISE House will benefit from community programming and academic support while living and learning with others pursuing similar academic course loads and fields of study. WISE House receives advising and support from the Penn State Women in Engineering Program (WEP). First-year WISE House residents within the College of Engineering will have the opportunity to enroll in the WISE first-year seminar. WISE House is open to undergraduates of any year standing, with preference given to students in the College of Agricultural Sciences, College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Health and Human Development, College of Information Sciences and Technology, and Eberly College of Science.

The majority of rooms are double-occupancy rooms, which feature a combination of fixed and flexible furniture.
