Hartranft Hall

Hartranft Hall is named after Major General John F. Hartranft, who served with great distinction during the Civil War and was awarded the Medal of Honor. Hartranft served as Pennsylvania Auditor General (1867-1873) and the 17th Governor of Pennsylvania (1873-1879). He was an advocate for education and voting rights for African Americans.

Hartranft Hall, built in 1960, is a classic traditional residence hall. Hartfanft Hall features a living room, recreation/game room, knowledge station, and laundry rooms. The building offers coed housing and bedrooms feature fixed and flexible furniture that allow limited ability to arrange furniture in student rooms. Hartranft Hall is is coed with male and female students assigned to separate floors and a designated bathroom shared by the residents of the floor. Hartranft Hall is located in the Pollock Housing area near the White BuildingHUB-Robeson Center, and in close proximity to downtown State College.
