McKee Hall

McKee Hall is named after James Y McKee who served the college for 25 years as a respected and beloved professor of Greek language and literature. McKee served in leadership roles including Vice-President (1868-91), acting President (four separate times), Secretary of the Board of Trustees (1868-69), and Executive Committee member (1874-92). During his tenure, McKee ushered in substantial curriculum changes, research organization to improve instruction, and promoted education which was an immeasurable benefit to the students of our university.
McKee Hall, built in 1949, is a classic traditional residence hall. The ground floor and basement feature a living room, recreation/game room, study room, meeting room, and laundry room. The building offers coed housing and bedrooms feature fixed and flexible furniture that allows students to arrange furniture in a room a few different ways. McKee Hall is single gender by floor with a community bathroom on each floor that is shared by all residents. McKee Hall is located in the northeast quad of the West Housing area near the Nittany Lion Shrine, Pattee and Paterno Library, Recreation Building (REC Hall), Blue and White Golf Courses, and Hepper Fitness Center.
