Thompson Hall

Thompson Hall

Thompson Hall is named after Moses Thompson. A major landowner in Centre County, Thompson, along with Irvin, donated the original 200 acres that became Penn State and helped fund early building of the College Building. Thompson served on the Board of Trustees as Secretary (1859-1864) and Treasurer (1867-1874).

Thompson Hall, built in 1949 and renovated in 1996, is a classic traditional residence hall. Thompson Hall features a living room, recreation/game room, and laundry room. The building offers coed housing and bedrooms feature fixed and flexible furniture that allows students to arrange furniture in a room a few different ways. Thompson Hall is coed with male and female students assigned to sections of the floor and a designated bathroom on the floor for male and female students. Thompson Hall is located in the West Housing area near the Nittany Lion ShrinePattee and Paterno LibraryRecreation Building (REC Hall)Blue and White Golf Courses, and Hepper Fitness Center.

The Waring Commons supports students living in West Halls.
