Waitlist Instructions for On-Campus Housing at University Park

On-Campus Housing Waitlist Overview

The On-Campus Housing Waitlist is available for upper-class students interested in living on campus at University Park and who either were not eligible to participate in the LiveOn Housing Process, or just did not participate.

Important Notes

  • The On-Campus Housing Waitlist is for current students only; incoming first-year students are required to live on campus and will receive housing through the offer of admission
  • Adding your name to the Waitlist implies your interest to live on campus for the specified academic term.
  • If you are offered a Housing and Food Service (HFS) Contract, you are not required to accept the offer.
  • However, once you accept the HFS Contract, you are legally-bound to living on campus.

Spring Semester

  • Waitlist opens 12 p.m. (noon) Oct. 1
  • Available for students who are new to Penn State or interested in moving on campus for spring semester

Fall-Spring Academic Year

Preferred Housing Options Waitlist

If the desired housing option is no longer available, add your name to one Preferred Housing Option Waitlist to be considered for reassignment.

Important Notes

  • Preferred Housing Options Waitlists are only viewable for students who have an accepted HFS Contract.
  • Students may add their name to only one Waitlist.
  • Adding name to a Waitlist indicates interest in reassignment.
  • There is no guarantee of reassignment.
  • Vacancies may become available as students change their plans and their HFS Contract is cancelled.
  • The Housing Assignment Office uses the Waitlist to reassign students to newly available spaces.
  • No notification is sent until room assignments are posted. Once room assignments are posted, the student will be informed if their room assignment changes.
