Welcome to Summer Session!

Welcome to Summer Session at Penn State! Here are some great tips to help get you adjusted to the #LiveOn experience.


Penn State id+ Card

Your Penn State id+ Card is used for accessing your residence hall building, Campus Meal Plan, and LionCash, as well as other services. Residence Halls are locked 24 hours/day and only residents of the building may enter. You can either swipe the reader or use the new tap-n-go feature!

If you misplace or lose your id+ card, you can purchase either a temporary ID at the Commons Desk for $5 or a new replacement card at the id+ Office for $20.


Room Key

The renovated residence halls located in East Halls have bedroom doors which will always be LOCKED - you need to take your room key with you everywhere! 

If you are locked out, you can request a Loaner Room Key through eLiving and can use it for up to 2 hours. After that, you will be charged $64 for a core change. If you lose your room key, a replacement core will be ordered for $64.

You can sign up to receive text message notifications for when you receive a package. Please do not visit the Commons Desk until you have received notification from eLiving!


Laundry

Laundry facilities are located in every residence hall and require LionCash funds to pay for cycles. Download the Speed Queen app and enter your building number (located on the posters in the laundry rooms) to check machine availability.


LionCash

LionCash is used for laundry, printing, vending, and copy machines. There are also over 200 merchants who accept LionCash for payment! Funds carry over year-to-year.

Maintenance Requests

Experiencing an issue with your room or in the building? Submit an online maintenance request through Fixit


Room Inspection Form

Complete the Room Inspection Form in eLiving by Saturday July 2 - you can indicate the condition of your room and furniture. If you do not complete the Room Inspection Form, it will be assumed that your room and furniture are in good condition. You are responsible for any damaged or missing items after you check-out of the room, and any charges incurred will be added to your LionPATH account. 


Campus Meal Plan

Your Campus Meal Plan will work at ALL on-campus dining options, and you always want to pay for purchases with your dining dollars. At the end of summer session, any remaining dining dollars will be transferred to your fall account.


Fall Roommate Requests

Summer Session students living on campus have the opportunity to update their fall roommate request! Requests can be submitted noon June 29 - noon July 5. 


Summer-to-Fall Storage

Towards the end of summer session, you'll receive information about summer-to-fall storage. If your fall room assignment is available, you'll be able to use our drop-and-go option so you do not have to take everything home!
